The United League of Arakan has advised residents of Maungdaw near the Bangladesh border in Rakhine State to evacuate as the Arakan Army (AA) plans to capture remaining junta strongholds. The AA has surrounded the remaining junta bases in Maungdaw Township and is prepared for urban warfare. The organization urges residents to leave areas where regime forces are fortified or deployed. The AA has already taken control of Buthidaung Township and occupied ten more junta bases in Maungdaw. Over 200 regime troops, including Colonel Tayzar Htay, have been killed. Sittwe, the state capital, is expected to be the AA's next target after Maungdaw. This event took place on 06/17/2024 at the following location: Maungdaw, Myanmar.
