A recent assault by troops of Operation Lake Sanity 2, commanded by Task Force Wulgo, resulted in the rescue of 34 kidnapped women and children from terrorists near Lake Chad in Nigeria. One insurgent was neutralized during the operation. Additionally, three members of the Islamic State's West Africa Province surrendered themselves to Task Force Wulgo. They are currently in custody for further investigation. The military conducted an air interdiction mission that destroyed three suicide vehicle-borne IEDs, preventing a major terrorist attack.
