The Taliban has removed barbed wire along the border, which resulted in retaliatory fire from Pakistan.

The Taliban destroyed and removed Pakistani barbed wire along the Durand Line and Pakistan responded with artillery fire. Pakistan reportedly wants to widen its barbed wire barriers and it has almost completed construction along the 2,400-kilometer border. Casualty figures were not reported.

A South African (SA) soldier deployed in Mozambique was shot and killed in an ambush by insurgents near the village of Chai, Cabo Delgado province, on Tuesday. SA deployed forces to the country to help fight against an ongoing insurgency.

Clashes have been taking place between factions of security forces in Bosaaso leading to casualties.
