A suspected sub-commander of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) was arrested for his alleged involvement in the torching of a police car and shooting inside a church in Maguindanao del Sur in 2020. The suspect, known as alias Bayawak, is facing charges including attempted murder, multiple murders, frustrated murder, violation of the Anti-Terrorism Act, and destructive arson. Bayawak's group, consisting of over 100 BIFF members, attacked a community in Datu Piang in December 2020. This event took place on 06/17/2024 at the following location: Datu Piang, Philippines.
