Resistance fighters reportedly captured the strategic district of Kawlin after four days of fighting. Firearms and ammunition were seized during the capture. Insurgents also rescued locals taken prisoner by the junta troops. Casualty figures in the fighting were unknown. Kawlin district comprises three townships: Kawlin, Wuntho, and Pinlebu.
