Government forces killed a high-ranking New People's Army (NPA) leader and captured three others during an operation in the village of Butong, Bukidnon, on Wednesday. Another rebel escaped during a firefight but later surrendered to government forces. Troops recovered two M16 rifles with an attacked M203 grenade launcher, an AK47 rifle, an M1 Carbine rifle, a .45 pistol, an anti-personnel mine, a hand grenade, two 40mm high explosives, and subversive documents after the encounter.
