Spanish authorities arrest Mexican Sinaloa drug cartel members

In a major crackdown, Spanish authorities arrested 14 members of the Mexican Sinaloa drug cartel, mostly Mexican nationals, after an investigation triggered by the kidnapping and murder of one of their accomplices, the Spanish National Police announced on Sunday. The dismantled criminal network, based in the Catalonia region, was allegedly behind the kidnapping and killing of a man whose body was discovered in a wooded area - the victim had traveled from Italy to meet with some of the gang's leaders.
