The RSF's advance has led to the collapse of the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) defenses, and the city's capture is seen as a significant loss for the SAF. The RSF now controls nearly all of West Kordofan, including the capital Al-Fula, and is advancing towards the city of Al-Obeid, the capital of North Kordofan State.
