President deposed in Burkina Faso

Burkina Faso's army said that it has deposed President Roch Kabore, suspended the constitution, dissolved the government and national assembly and closed the country's borders.  The army's announcement said the action was taken due to Kabore's inability to unite the country and respond to challenges such as the ongoing Islamist insurgency.  Those detained are being held at an unknown location. This event took place on 01/24/2022 at the following location: Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.
