A German sea rescue charity, RESQSHIP, rescued 59 survivors after intercepting a rubber boat floating adrift south of the Italian island of Lampedusa. The migrants had set off from Libya on Wednesday, but their engine failed, leaving them exposed to harsh weather conditions.
