German police arrest eight suspected far-right paramilitary members in the Saxony Region
German authorities have arrested eight suspected members of a far-right extremist group called the Sächsische Separatisten, or Saxonian Separatists. The group, comprised of around 15-20 individuals, including some minors and adolescents, allegedly held racist, antisemitic, and apocalyptic beliefs. They plotted to violently seize control of Saxony and potentially other eastern German states to establish a National Socialist-inspired government and social structure. Polish authorities have detained four individuals suspected of participating in test runs for a Russian scheme to detonate parcel bombs on US-bound transatlantic flights.
