Armed militants free 60 inmates in northwest Burkina Faso
Heavily armed militants attacked a jail in the town of Nouna early Sunday. At least 60 inmates were freed during the attack. A volunteer militia member was wounded in the attack. Several prison trucks and motorbikes were set on fire, and offices were ransacked during the attack. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack. This event took place on 05/08/2022.
