Extremists kill six civilians, two security force members in Yatenga Province
Suspected extremists attacked the town of Sima, in Yatenga province on Monday. Six civilians and four members of the Volunteers for the Defense of the Fatherland (VDP) auxiliary force were killed in the attack. Several other VDP members were listed as missing after the attack. The assailants fled the area after reinforcements and air support arrived. This event took place on 08/08/2022.

Militant gunfire injures a junior officer in the Changlang district
Suspected United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA) and the Yung Aung faction of the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN-YA) militants in Myanmar fired across the border into India wounding a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) of the Assam Rifles in the Changlang district on Tuesday. The attack took place while Indian forces were on patrol 1 km from the Pangsau Pass. Gunfire was also heard on the international border in the Noklak district of neighboring Nagaland. ISIS suspect arrested in Azamgarh
Counter-terrorism forces arrested a suspected ISIS terrorist during an operation in Azamgarh on Monday. IED-making materials and weapons were recovered during the arrest. The suspect reportedly was planning a terror attack on Independence Day. This event took place on 08/09/2022.

ISIS suicide bomber blows himself up in Diyala Province
An ISIS suicide bomber blew himself up near a military headquarters after being wounded and surrounded by Iraqi forces in Diyala Province on Tuesday. The terrorist reportedly intended to blow himself up during Husseini processions near the military headquarters. There were no other casualties from the blast. This event took place on 08/09/2022.
